We encourage planting and strengthening churches because we believe the local church is God’s primary agent of mission. Our focus includes: 

• Locally Contextualized Churches: Sending workers to raise local leaders and plant contextually faithful churches in the various cultures of our cities. 
• International Language Churches: Reaching the nations through multilingual congregations in global cities where global lingua francas function as other common languages (ex., English in Kuala Lumpur, Arabic in Berlin, etc.). 

Every Terminus church exists to be a Kingdom outpost, establishing gospel witness in both familiar and cross-cultural urban contexts. 

God is gathering the nations into the cities of the world. We go where the people are: urban centers of influence, complexity, and opportunity. Cities shape the ideas of the world; they are places where culture is formed and exported. To reach the nations, our churches must be equipped to both faithfully connect with and courageously confront the dominant cultural narratives shaping our cities and beyond. This is why Terminus churches are committed to seeking the welfare of our cities by displaying a vision of the New Jerusalem to come. We will be deeply embedded in the life, culture, and challenges of their city, bringing the hope of the gospel to every corner.

We don’t outsource missions; we own it. Terminus churches are committed to identifying, assessing, training, and sending their own members to serve locally and globally through: 

• Short-Term Opportunities that inspire vision and strengthen partnerships
• Mid-Term Assignments that provide contextual learning, field training, and project-specific goals that lead to the long-term impact
• Long-Term Sending of elder-qualified pastors and deacon-qualified missionary team members who are deeply rooted in local churches and sound doctrine
• The Three-Party Enterprise of Faithful Mission: We believe faithful Great Commission work is a three-party enterprise: the sending church, the missionary, and the receiving church must all be aligned and collaborating. When these three are working together in partnership, mission advances with clarity, accountability, and long-term health. Without that alignment, mission can drift into disconnection or dysfunction. At Terminus, we are committed to cultivating this kind of integrating, church-centered sending in our churches. 

We collaborate with like-minded, church-centered networks and organizations that share our convictions. These macro-partners help us steward resources, avoid duplication, and strengthen the global church together. Our partnership reflects our belief that the Great Commission is too big for one church, but not too big for the Church.

Terminus Churches generously share people, tools, finances, and ideas. From training and theological formation to entrepreneurial initiatives and redemptive investments, we steward what we’ve been given for the good of others. 

Terminus mobilizes trusted advisors and experts to provide consulting and coaching for our churches in critical areas such as missiology, training and development, faith-driven entrepreneurship, cultural apologetics, counseling, and more. This equips Terminus churches to send faithfully, develop leaders carefully, and engage their cities effectively.

We believe in one true and living God, eternal, self-existent, and sovereign over all things. He is the Creator of heaven and earth, the Redeemer of His people, and the righteous ruler who works all things according to the counsel of His will for His glory and the good of those who belong to Him. This one God eternally exists as three persons—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—equal in divine nature, power, and glory,  without division or confusion, truly one God in divine being. Christians worship one God, not three. The Son is eternally begotten of the Father, not created, and the Holy Spirit eternally proceeds from the Father (and the Son), revealing the one God who is both transcendent and personally present with His people.

We believe that humanity was created by God in holiness and in His image—male and female—to know Him, live under His loving rule, and reflect His character in the world. Through deliberate disobedience, humanity fell from this original state, resulting in corruption of nature, alienation from God, and broken relationship with the Creator. As a result, all people are sinners by nature and choice, unable to restore themselves to God, and stand under His just judgment apart from His gracious and unmerited mercy.

We believe that salvation is entirely the gracious work of God, freely given to all who hear and believe the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. Through repentance—a genuine turning from sin toward God—and faith—trusting wholly in the person and work of Jesus Christ—individuals are united to Him. Salvation begins with regeneration, in which God gives new spiritual life to those who are spiritually dead. God justifies believers solely through the sinless life, atoning death, and bodily resurrection of Jesus Christ. On the cross, Jesus bore the just judgment of sinners in their place, and through faith God credits to believers the righteousness of Christ, bringing them into a relationship of peace and favor with Himself. Salvation continues through progressive sanctification, as the Holy Spirit dwells within believers, enabling growth in holiness, obedience, and love. The final fulfillment of salvation is eternal life with God in the renewed creation—the new heavens and new earth. The Holy Spirit secures and guarantees the believer’s salvation, which rests not on human effort but on God’s eternal covenant and faithfulness.

We believe that all who trust in Jesus Christ belong to the one, holy, universal Church, which is expressed visibly in local congregations of baptized believers. The Church gathers under the authority of God’s Word for preaching, teaching, worship, prayer, mutual care, and mission. Local churches are called to observe the ordinances instituted by Christ, practice loving accountability, and participate in God’s mission in the world. Christ is the head of the Church, and He provides leaders—pastors, elders, overseers, and deacons—who are to serve according to the qualifications and responsibilities taught in Scripture, while allowing appropriate flexibility of structure across cultural contexts.

We believe that Baptism and the Lord’s Supper are ordinances instituted by the Lord Jesus Christ for His Church. Christian Baptism is the immersion of a believer in water in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, serving as a public testimony of faith in Christ and a sign of union with Him in His death and resurrection. The Lord’s Supper is a commemorative and covenantal act by which believers remember and proclaim Christ’s sacrificial death, using bread to represent His body and the fruit of the vine to represent His blood, given for the forgiveness of sins. These ordinances are to be practiced faithfully until Christ returns, with pastoral wisdom applied in diverse cultural contexts while preserving their biblical meaning and intent.

We believe that God will bring history to its appointed and righteous conclusion. According to His promise, Jesus Christ will return personally, bodily, and visibly in glory to judge the living and the dead. He will fully establish His everlasting Kingdom, defeat all evil, and renew creation. Those who have trusted in Christ will be raised to eternal life with God in the new heavens and new earth. This sure hope calls believers in every culture to faithful endurance, holiness, and confident witness until He comes.
